This free event welcomes individuals aged 10 and up from the disabled community, along with their family and friends, for an unforgettable evening of music, dancing, and celebration.

2017

The Beginning
- 500 Attendees

In 2017, SubtanceCares created DanceABLE – the world’s first inclusive outdoor pool and patio party for people with disabilities. The first event had almost 500 attendees

2018

Rapid Growth

The second annual event grew we doubled in attendance, to over 1000 people. This milestone proved there was a strong appetite for inclusive celebrations and set the stage for years to come.

2019

Expanding the Experience

The third year introduced more live performances, interactive elements, and a wider range of accessibility features, ensuring everyone could take part in the fun.

2020

Virtual Connection

When the pandemic limited in-person gatherings, we shifted to online, keeping the spirit of inclusivity alive with virtual performances and community interaction.

An empty outdoor event venue due to covid, the party moved online.

2021

Return to Celebration

This event cautiously returned with hybrid elements, blending smaller in-person gatherings with digital participation to ensure safety and accessibility.

2022

Building Momentum

The event continued to expand, re-establishing itself as a highlight of the summer for Toronto’s disability community and their families.

A large, diverse crowd dances together at an indoor inclusive event, with some attendees using mobility aids such as wheelchairs and walkers, highlighting an accessible and welcoming environment.
2023

Cabana Pool Bar Edition

With a renewed focus on growth, we hit a milestone with over 1500 attendees to our annual dance party, only this time, due to rain, we took the party indoors at Rebel while still creating a high energy, waterfront celebration

2024

Island Vibes & Carnival Energy

With the theme “Global Twist”, DanceABLE featured the return of Lux Carnival, immersing attendees in Caribbean culture with tropical beats, dazzling performances, and colourful visuals for a full sensory journey.

2025

Cabana Pool Bar—this time with a global twist.

-2000 attendees

DanceABLE continues to bring the party to anyone and everyone, welcoming individuals aged 10+ from the disabled community, along with their family and friends, for an unforgettable night of music, dancing, and inclusion. Cabana Pool Bar—this time with a global twist.

2026

Building InclusiV Momentum

A new chapter begins. DanceABLE is evolving into Inclusiv — a bigger vision, expanded programs, and more locations to serve our community.

What began as a movement to make dance accessible is growing into something even greater: a space where everyone belongs, moves, and thrives.

Same heart.
Bigger impact.
Welcome to Inclusiv.

Testimionials …

“We have been going to this event for the past nine years and we are so excited for the tenth anniversary.

Bryan is my son, a lovely twenty-three-year-old, legally blind and living with seizures and hydrocephalus. He is a happy young man who loves music and dance. Your event is the only safe and inclusive dance I can take Bryan to. He loves it and I enjoy my time dancing and having fun with him.
Inspired to help individuals like my son and caregivers like myself, we founded a community-based charity called Bryan’s Place – offering a day program for adults with complex needs, respite care, support for caregivers, and Mom’s Camp a weekend away for seventy caregivers every year to recharge, connect and breathe.
We truly align with your mission and would love to contribute to making this celebration even more meaningful.
Congratulations on your tenth anniversary and the incredible impact you have created in the community.”

“It was wonderful to see families and friends enjoying music, movement and connection together along Toronto’s waterfront. DanceABLE created a joyful, relaxed environment where individuals could be themselves and families could be present and enjoy the moment.”

DanceABLE was such a fun, interactive and truly welcoming afternoon for individuals and their loved ones. From the moment you arrived, it was clear that accessibility and inclusion were at the heart of the event. The sensory-friendly design made it easy for everyone to feel comfortable, supported and free to participate in a way that worked for them.”

Attendee

“I’m deeply grateful to Variety Ontario and Substance Cares for hosting Danceable—an inclusive dance party that simply would not exist without their commitment and care. They created a safe, welcoming space where the community could come together, move freely, and share a truly joyful day.”

Parent

“DanceAble is an experience that is indescribable, but there is one word that comes to mind — joy!  The moment you walk in the feeling of joy, and the energy is intense and powerful.   Parents are beaming with pride and happiness watching their kids dance freely with no judgement and no inhibitions. It is beautiful and touching to see . The founders and their team created an incredible event that is thoughtful, intentional, and tailored to ensure everyone , especially the kids, are accommodated, made to feel special and cared for. BRAVO !”

I attended DanceAble as a guest and was impressed by how welcoming and well run the evening was. Set along Toronto’s waterfront, the space created a welcoming atmosphere from the moment people arrived. The volunteers were friendly and engaged throughout the night, and the event flowed smoothly. Seeing members of the community, along with their families and friends, enjoying the space, the activations, and the music together was genuinely inspiring, and I was grateful to be present for it

Angela Paoletta

“My wife, teenaged son and I all attended Danceable for the first time in 2025 and each came away uplifted and inspired.  It was a powerful reminder that all of us crave shared experiences where we aren’t treated as ‘different’, even though we undoubtedly have differences.

In creating a safe, inclusive space for people of all ages and abilities to feel welcomed, and to celebrate freely, Variety Ontario and Substance Cares demonstrated both the power of kindness and the transformative impact of genuine human connection.
We can’t wait for next year!”

What makes InclusiV different from other events?2026-04-03T20:25:30+00:00

InclusiV is built on three pillars:

· Accessibility — physical, sensory, and social

· Community — everyone belongs

· Joy — movement, music, and connection without limits

Why did the event grow so quickly?2026-04-03T20:25:05+00:00

Because the community needed it. InclusiV filled a gap — a space where people of all abilities could participate fully, without barriers, pressure, or judgment. Word of mouth, community partnerships, and the event’s energy helped it grow year after year.

How did InclusiV begin?2026-04-03T20:22:40+00:00

InclusiV began nine years ago as a small but powerful idea shared by Neil and Xavier. They wanted to create a space where people of all abilities could dance, connect, and feel celebrated. What started as a modest community gathering has grown into one of Toronto’s most inclusive and joyful annual events.

Will FIFA World Cup or any traffic issues impact InclusiV?2026-04-03T20:18:35+00:00

No, FIFA will not be a factor during our event, games being held in Toronto do not take place on this date and based on the game schedule on the FIFA website, there are no games happening during our event and of the 3 games being played that day, they are taking place in Mexico and The US

Why did you change the name?2026-04-03T20:21:57+00:00

We decided to change the name to represent the new path we are going with this event. DanceABLE was the concept, InclusiV was birthed from DanceABLE. Change and evolution is constant

What happened to DanceABLE?2026-04-03T20:24:34+00:00

DanceABLE is still happening only under a new name, InclusiV! The event started under the name DanceAble 9 years ago, highlighting its focus on accessible dance experiences. As the event expanded, the vision grew beyond dance alone — embracing community, connection, and celebration. The name evolved to InclusiV to reflect that broader mission.
